👏👏👏you are too rough on yourself. You are doing a great job. With epoxy, if you get a disposable paint tray to pour your epoxy in. Another words, spread it out. Having built a boat, there is nothing better when you get it in the water. It will float.

I’m a 58 year old life long California resident and yes California sucks! Growing up the population estimates were around 20-25 million and now it teeters at 40 million. Most of the state is very hot and dry, ginormous forest fires every single year, severely overpriced housing market, crime galore, terrible politics and so much more. People ask me why I stay? Because my children that are about your age work and live here. Sure , they would like to leave but are tied here for one reason or another and so for many people like myself, it would be very hard to leave knowing your leaving your children behind, so we stay. Anyway…

You can get the camper shell shocks at any parts store. Just go in to a parts store (NAPA, Advanced, CarQuest, etc.) and ask a person to check which kind you have and get the # of the part. Sometimes they have them in the back. If not, at least you will have the part # and can order on-line. A pair is about $20

Hayneshvac2...As an HVAC Technician, I would like to recommend insulating the interior of the camper shell. Nothing dramatic really, even some bubble wrap style insulation from Home Depot would suffice. The reason being that when it rains, the temperature differential between inside and outside the shell could cause the interior to sweat and drip, thus resulting in a false belief that the shell is leaking somewhere. The more sealed you make the shell, the more you will see this becoming an issue. This could also cause the plywood to eventually rot. Wouldn't want you to be chasing ghosts. Been binge watching your boat builds, loving the content, thank you for sharing.

I think you're doing really really good! I'm not that big on wood boats. But I do believe it's going to be quite nice when you're done. You seem to enjoy working with the wood. You might want to Look into Being a Cabinet maker. There's good money in it . And a certain amount of satisfaction. Working with the wood. God bless you keep up the good work.

Go to the wood yard. Eventually you will get to know them.

if you keep track of the material used in building - especially sheets of plywood, you'll be able you estimate the weight and displacement and the water line. It pays to double up on the seams below the water line.

Since you are almost done (and I use that term loosely since we all know you will never stop adding to, fixing, or improving your boat) have you decided if your are going to use that cool ship's wheel you have and (of course the most important question) have you picked out a toy 🦜yet?🤪
